Today's Webtip: Marketing Done Right
I hate advertising. I hate the fact that it is everywhere, that most of it sucks and that huge sums of money are being sucked up for its production.
I understand that marketing is something that has its place. What I don't understand is why so much of it is so bad and why such enormous amounts of money end up getting siphoned off during the process.
And that is why Casey Neistat's concept for a viral marketing campaign makes me happy. I would love it if his idea becomes something that everyone tries to copy.
Why? Because the man knows how to produce low cost videos that are watchable, and he used a big portion of the budget to fund his own personal relief effort for victims of taiphoon Haiyan.
Yes, it was probably a major ego-trip for him, but at least some people benefitted from it.
