Today's Webtip: WhoWhatWhy

Another attempt at taking investigative journalism to the web.

I know it's cool to cry about the death of journalism due to the web, but I have to admit, it's something I find a bit difficult to do. It feels like web based journalists have been doing a heck of a lot of the heavy lifting the last couple of years.

One of my favorite examples has long been www.propublica.org,, another has been the journalist Glenn Greenwald who moved from Salon to the Guardian and soon tom something completely new.

And today I found whowhatwhy.com

Another project put together by people who want to break out of the constraints imposed by big medias form of access journalism. To quote the founder, Russ Baker:

I started WhoWhatWhy because I was tired of the cynicism, self-interest, and cowardice that I witnessed in the news media. I started WhoWhatWhy to show how good—and how consequential—journalism can be when the only mandate is to dig relentlessly, and reveal, without exception, what we uncover.

Sounds like fun.
