Dr Plas says Japan must set a new target for renewable energy

Following the Fukushima disaster, Japan is closing down it's nuclear power stations and reverting to fossil fuels. This means it had to revise its emissions targets for 2020 from a hoped for 25% reduction to just 3.8%. Although this will not make a huge difference on a global scale, it sends an important message. Dr. Christian Plas, the director of Denkstatt, a sustainability consulting company, explains why this should not be allowed to set a precedent.
