High hopes for Iran agreement

Reality Check: Iran talks, Fukushima fuel rod removal, Google vs NSA, Deeb, "Und dann war alles anders"

US Secretary of State, John Kerry, is making an unscheduled visit to the Iran talks in Geneva, leading to speculation that an agreement may be close.

Imogen Foulkes reports from the talks on the progress that is being made.

Fukushima fuel rod removal

Engineers prepare for the delicate and complicated process of moving the fuel rods.

Nuclear analyst, John Large, explains the procedure and assesses the risks associated with removing the fuel rods from the Fukushima nuclear plant.

The fuel rods are around 4 meters long, and filled with uranium pellets. The major concern is that they were damaged in the earthquake and following tsunami in March 2011.

The operation will be long and expensive, but is essential to securing the plant for the future.
