Today's Webtip: On Muppets and Merchandise
I'm a terrible business man. It's like a part of me just shuts down as soon as the issue of money comes up.
PArt of it might be cultural. I was one of those who grew up with the idea that art is in some way incompatible with money. That the creative process could only be pure if it was done out of the need to create, and not the need to pay the rent. Or afford a villa.
I know that's silly. I also know that being a part of the creative process for marketing purposes still makes me feel nasty.
So I have to keep telling myself that there is hope. That there is another way. One that would work if I could just get over my aversion to things like spreadsheets and negotiation.
Which I will get around to right after I get done reading about how Jim Henson dealt with it. It's not procrastination, it's research.
Yeah. That's it.
