There were literally only 12 European bison left in zoos in Europe but they've made an astounding COMEBACK!
A detailed study compiled by the Zoological Society of London, BirdLife International and the European Bird Census Council and in collaboration with experts from across Europe, revealed threatened species such as European bison and beaver are gaining population numbers thanks to man's help. One such man is Frans Schepers, the Managing Director of Rewilding Europe.
