The battle between the Guardian Newspaper and the authories is escalating further, as the editor, Alan Rusbridger, has revealed how he was forced to allow government agents to destroy hard drives with information on the Edward Snowden case.

The revelations have been causing outrage among press freedom advocates, but the British government remains adamant that they were acting within their rights under the Terror Act.
