Who is Hassan Rouhani?
A new era in Iran?

Hassan Rouhani has started work as president of the Islamic Republic. He succeeds Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, who presided over a very turbulent time in office. Rouhani, a moderate cleric, started his new job by talking in terms of dialogue and respect and many inside and outside Iran are looking to him for a diplomatic solution to the controversy over Iran's nuclear programme. Shashank Joshi, expert in international security in South Asia and the Middle East and research fellow at the Royal United Services Institute in London, told Riem Higazi more about the man and how his presidency might change Iran's relations with the rest of the world:
