Pope in Brazil
Pope Francis has arrived in Brazil on his first foreign trip as head of the Catholic Church, to be greeted by enthusiastic crowds in Rio de Janeiro.

There were also clashes between anti-government protesters and the police outside the welcoming ceremony for the Pontiff, who’s in Brazil to attend the Roman Catholic World Youth Day festival. Our correspondent Esther-Marie Merz, who’s in Brazil to cover the Pope’s week-long visit, reports:

Cycling for Student Exchange Programmes
Study semesters abroad are designed to broaden minds and bring cultures closer together.

Only around 4% of students in Europe take part in exchange programs such as Erasmus. That`s not enough, says a group of student activists called “Ride for Your Rights” who are currently cycling from Vienna to Ankara to promote exchange programmes, meeting politicians and university representatives along the way and sharing their ideas for improving student mobility.
