Today's Webtip: Sci Fi Radio
I've been a radio geek for as long as I can remember. Radio put me to sleep at night, gave me my first taste of foreign languages and fueled my passion for music. It also exposed me to some science fiction classics.
Our local community radio station used to rebroadcast 50's sci-fi radio dramas. Many of which were written by ground breaking authors I would later devour by the backpack full. Philip K. Dick, Robert Heinlein and Isaac Asimov were just a few of the people providing the raw material for some astounding radio dramas. Productions that used some of the greatest special effects available to mid twentieth century producers. The listeners imagination. Star Trek was cool, and Dr. Who a lot of fun, but curling up under my covers listening to science fiction was a much more intense experience.
One that I would like to share with you.
The Internet Archives has episodes of 2000plus, Dimension X, and my favorite, X Minus One.
