Well, that was quick. Yesterday the person responsible for leaking documents to the Guardian outed himself. Edward Snowden explained his actions in a video interview with Glenn Greenwald.
The Guardian has the video as well as coverage of Greenwald's U.S. television appearance.
Meanwhile people across the planet are getting into internet arguments about wether or not any of this matters, politicians and pundits are forcing focus on the messengers, and Snowden is sitting in Hong Kong. Republicans are blaming Obama, Democrats are blaming Bush, and at least a few people are making jokes.
