Turkey protests escalate further

Tensions in Turkey continue today as a quarter of a million workers are on a two day strike in support of the anti-government protests over the weekend.
Prime Minister, Tayyip Erdogan, is still insisting the protests are the the work of "extremists", but this is looking harder and harder to justify. While he says this is not a "Turkish Spring", there is no doubt that the intensity of the demonstrations is increasing, and that this series of events is likely to have a lasting impact on Turkey's political landscape.
