Today's Webtip: Warp Drive?

We might be a small step closer to taking a very giant leap.

I don't know how or why I missed this, but io9.com had an article about some very interesting developments in the quest for an interstellar drive. It turns out that the whole laws of physics thing that made faster than light travel seem impossible actually makes another science fiction classic realistic. Warp drive.

Of course, that had a few problems as well. Like the sheer mass that would have been needed to provide energy. Shoving a pile of fuel the mass of Jupiter around didn't seem too practical.

And it turns out, it might not be needed.
