Today's Webtip: System Sounds

A guide to recording them with software.

I've been playing around with a few ideas lately, and frequently find myself needing to record sounds from my computer. Recording audio from game play for example, or grabbing snippets from video or other streaming sources.

If you happen to have the right hardware it's pretty easy, but if you only have one computer to work with it can be a head scratcher. Unless you have the right software. And a guide to help you out.

Audacity is an example of some free software that can help you out. Not just with the recording, but with the how to. The Audacity online documentation is a lot of help, and rich with information for anyone interested in audio recording and editing. They even have a special tutorial on recording system sounds.
