Opposition leaders are calling for major rallies on the anniversary of the revolution, but the ruling Muslim Brotherhood are keeping a low profile.

Although the opposition in Egypt are very vocal, they have not yet been able to consolidate their position into a real political force. Their next chance to challence the Muslim Brotherhood's hold on power will be at parliamentary elections in a few months' time.

In the meantime, the Muslim Brotherhood seems keen to avoid any open conflict, and has opted to mark the 2nd anniversary of the start of the revolution with tree-planting ceremonies and offcial social functions.

Karim El Gawhary reports from Cairo on the stand off between the two sides in this deeply divided country.
