Today's Webtip: Make's gift-lists

Because DIY doesn't have to say "It's the thought that counts"

Gift-giving is fun. Planning the years list of goodies can be great. Shopping, making, wrapping, are all things I actually look forward to doing.

And then there is the getting. Two gifts in particular. Gifts that are always the same, are anything but surprising, and tickle me many shades of pink.

The first has to be my mom's party mix. Every year she sends me a couple of bags full of her savoury cracker mix. I always know what it is, and the one year it came late was a bit of a bummer.

The second comes from my brother in law. He makes the greatest christmas cookies I have ever had. He takes cookie baking to a high art, one that manages to bring him to the very edge of sanity at times - which is only fair, because my kids and I are crazy about those cookies.

Seriously. I weep for all of you who will never taste them.

Where was I....

Oh yeah. DIY gifts. I'm a fan. Big fan. But I also know how daunting it can be. So it's probably a good thing to get a little help when you can. And who better to help with holiDIY than Make.
