Why buy when you can D.I.Y.?

It's almost time to let the count-down begin. Yes, the Advent season is about to fall on us like a ton of konsumgüter, and one of the cherished traditions (even in heathen hochburgs like my few qm of cow town) is the Adventkalender.

When I was a kid they were just printed paper things with little windows showing pictures of, well, stuff. Sort of the super cheapskates version of the 12 days of Christmas. I was pretty impressed with the chocolate ones when I first arrived in Austria, until I realized that they were svereley lacking in the suspense department.

"Hmmm, what will I find today? Oh Chocolate..."

But home-made AK's can be a whole lot of fun.
