Today's Webtip: Dark Run

A game that makes losing addictive.

Dark Run is one of those games that proves the validity of KISS. It's about as simple as a game can get. Run or die. Or actually, run AND die. Because you will.

It's a bit like one of those bad dreams that loop back on themselves. You are being chased by some undefined darkness, through a constantly changing maze-like dungeon that is filled by other things that will hurt you. Once you are caught, it starts all over again. Your score is measured in meters rather than points, and the only thing to strive for is to make it just a little bit further.

The controls are just loose enough that running feels more like scampering. Just like those dreams where you can't quite get complete control over your body. Normally I would consider sloppy controls a bad thing, but in this game it actually adds to the experience.
