Merkel gets hostile reception from Greeks
Subscribe to the Reality Check podcast and get the whole programme after the show.
It's a short visit, but one that has tempers boiling in Greece. Angela Merkel will meet with Prime Minister Antonis Samaras and President Karolos Papoulias on what is her first trip to the country since the Euro crisis began.
She says she wants to support the Greek government and help it stay in the Euro Zone, but local people are cynical.
Protesters have been on the streets in their thousands to protest against Merkel's visit and the draconian austerity measures the EU is imposing on the country.
Security around Mrs Merkel is high - and expectations that anything of importance will come out of the meeting are low.
Mark Lowen looks at reactions to the visit and what it might achieve.
