Today's Webtip: The Dude

The Dude doesn't just abide, he's alive an kickin back in the U.S.

I would imagine most of you are familiar with the Dude. If you aren't go grab a copy of the Big Lebowski and watch it.

Ok, now that we are all on the same wavelength, many of you might not have known that the Dude is based on a real person. Yeah those disclaimers about "this story is based on fictional characters" is pretty much the bullshit you probably expect. Anyway, the real dude is named Jeff Dowd. He was a major figure in the anti war movement, a member of the Seatle 7 and involved in marketing very interesting films at a time when they had a much tougher time of it.

And that's how the Coen brothers found him. They needed some help marketing Blood Simple. What they got would become so much more...
