Does anyone out there actually use the favorites function when opening a new tab? I've never even bothered to check out the settings because it feels quicker to just start typing a few letters rather than switching from keyboard to pointing device and back.

It seems about as useless as setting a fix homepage.

Chrome users who want to make new tabs a bit more useful (and can't bother to look out the window) could check out Currently.

It puts the time and weather forecast in new tabs rather than those useless favorites. It's also a nice way to get reminded of just how much time you have spent online. And that might provide enough inspiration to get out and see if the the weather is accurate.
