Today's Webtip: Fix yer bike!

a collection of guides to getting it done.

I know it's a bit late in the season, but I have a bunch of bikes that need fixing so you will just have to bear with me. A quick search on the web turns up all sorts of resources, but some seem to get recommended more than others.

One that had a lot of people suggesting it is bicycletutor.com It's sort of the www.ifixit.com for two-wheelers. I say sort of because it's not completely free. The written guides won't cost you anything, but if you want some video support they will expect you to pony up some cash.

It's not too much of a problem though, because the written guides provide a good starting point from which you can hit up google for more support. It's proven to be a much better starting place than some of the alternatives like ehow or instructables, where you can find guides to doing incredibly muddleheaded things like spray painting a frame while the cranks and gears are still attached. Trust me, that will not end well.

Another resource worth checking out is www.bikewebsite.com It's an oldschool site that might be a bit strange to look at but it's free, which is always nice.
