Today's Webtip: Bad. Apartment. Photos.

Picutes are worth a thousand words. Just make sure you know what you are saying.

One of my more stupid pasttimes is surfing apartment and house listings. The potential for unintentional humor is massive, and I will guarantee you that any listing with the phrases "recently renovated" "charming fixer-upper" or "Architektenwohnung" will leave you scratching your head or rolling on the floor.

Looking at highend listings frequently proves that money can't buy you taste, and low-end listings usually leave me amazed that some people can sleep well at night.

If the baldfaced lies in teh ads weren't bad enough, the photography usualy delivers. Yes, a well done photo should make an apartment easier to rent. No, a blurry photo of a broken sink is not a well done photo.

Apparently I am not the only person who spends time wondering what realtors were thinking. One tumbl blog is devoted exclusivley to bad photos of apartments.

badapartmentphotos.tumblr.com provides just what it sounds like bad photos of apartments, and photos of bad apartments. It should be noted though, that none of the photos come anywhere near the quality of one I found here. It should be pretty easy to figure out which photo I am referring to.

Really. what were they thinking?
