Reality Check: Obamacare passes Supreme Court, EU agrees on banks' deal, Euro 2012, The Supergrid, our Reality Check

It's being called a historic moment, and it's certainly cause for celebration in the White House. In a surprise decision, the US Supreme Court has ruled President Obama's healthcare law to be constitutional.

The ruling comes as a blow to Mitt Romney, who was expecting the Court to overturn at least part of the healthcare law - but he immediately retailiated, saying that if he becomes President, the first thing he will do is repeal the law.

This could work for him, or against him. If enough people feel the benefit of the new healthcare law before the election, it could be enough to switch them off Romney.

Simon Marks looks at this landmark decision by the Supreme Court and the implications it has for the coming presidential elections.

EU agrees on deal for the banks

After an all night haggling session, EU leaders have reached agreement on direct help for the struggling banks. While European Council President, Herman Von Rompuy, is calling it a "breakthrough" - it won't solve the fundamental problems. Vanessa Mock reports on the second day of the EU summit and the significance of the deal for the banks.

The need for a Supergrid

The EU's demand for energy is increasing rapidly, but the aim is to get 80% our electricity from renewable sources by 2050.
It's a tall order - but investing now in a "supergrid" to take electricity from the solar and wind farms to the users would be a major step forward.

Anna Aguado of Friends of the Supergrid explains why a complete rethink of power grids is needed to make large scale renewable energy a viable prospect.
