Yesterday's run-off presidential election in Serbia saw a surprise win for the pro-Russia nationalist Tomislav Nikolic, but will this change Serbia's political direction?
The election of former ultranationalist Tomislav Nikolic to the presidency may temporarily slow down Serbia's bid to join the EU, but is unlikely to mean a complete change of policy. Whom do we trust?
When we say someone "looks honest" or "looks dishonest", we know what we mean, but no one can really define it. However, scientists in Warwick, England, have put together people's assessments of what looks honest or dishonest into a computer programme that can modify a face to look either "trustworthy" or "untrustworthy".
They then asked people to play a "trust" game in which they interacted with these images - and the results were clear. Appearance DOES count, and rather alarmingly, appearance even overrides factual information.
Riem Higazi talks to Dr Chris Olivola about the research and its implications for business and politics.
