Intense hobbyists bring fiction a bit closer to reality.

No flying cars (although that may soon change) no transporters, no replicators, no faster than light travel....

The future my favorite authors promised me still seems a long ways off.

Until I start thinking about what we do have. Communicators, tri-corders, easy global communications, transformers, and mechs.

Transformers? Indeed.
