Remember the Magnavox Odysee?
I didn't think so. That's ok. It was originally released in 1972, production was ended in 1975 and a grand total of 330,000 units were sold. You aren't very likely to find one in your grandparents attic.
That doesn't take away from the fact that it is the first game console ever made. The man behind it, Ralph Baer, actually started to work on the device in 1966, and had a working prototype put together by 1968.
