The Egyptian revolution seems to turning increasingly sour, with the fourth day of violence in a row and a death toll since Friday of 13. The military are turning on the media, confiscating cameras from teams trying to film from apartments around Tahrir Square. But pictures of the violence, in particular the kind perpetrated against women, are getting out and causing an impact. An update from Karim El Gawhary in Cairo

Syria
There are accounts of more bloodshed in Syria with army deserters being massacred as they try to flee their base. Meanwhile an advance team of observers from the Arab League is preparing to travel to Syria for a mission that the Syrian government agreed to this week.
