Today's Webtip: iFixit

it's their mission to help uFixit. Repair is recycling.

There is more than one way to skin a wolf. It might not be a realistic goal to return to the days of complete self sufficiency, but expanding your collection of useful stuff can at least help you educe the amount of stuff you consume.

Despite the obvious turn toward disposable consumer goods, most stuff can still be fixed. All you need is a little help from some friends. Or from people who want to sell you tools and replacement parts.

To be fair, iFixit got it's start because a couple of guys wanted to fix their laptop, and they relized that others might be able to benefit from their trial and error. It looks like the business aspect was more of a second thought.

Not that it matters, helping people prolong the use of goods is good, and getting other people to share their knowledge is even better.

So if you find yourself in need of fixing something and don't k ow where to start, you now have a place. And if you know how to fix something that isn't listed here, you have a place to share. One small step in making the world a better place.

yay!
