Today's Webtip: OWS

The Dan Rather edition. Lurk MOAR!

Dan Rather used to be the voice of the news in America. Or one of the voices. Then he got a bit wrapped up in a tricky situation involving Pres. Bush's military service and some apparently forged documents.

The end result was an early retirement, and a few choice quotes in which Mr. Rathers accused contemporary U.S. journalists of a serious lack of courage.

Every now and then he still pops up in the media, and his most recent appearance was rather interesting.

His claims of having identified one of the masterminds behind the occupation set off a few red flags on the net, with people on both the left and right wondering what the heck he was thinking.

But the segment was still ok. It did point to some interesting projects, and in the interest of providing context to the piece, here are some links you might be interested in:

A Mother Jones article about Grim Womyn and her accomplice Chris. Chris is an anarchist with a job. I don't know which of those two facts made Dan think he shouldn't be mentioned in the segment, but I bet it is one of them.

Their tumblr blog really is pretty good.
