Today's Webtip: PressPausePlay

a documentary full of interviews about the digital revolution.

As we blunder on in to the post analog future, it might be a good idea to occasionally take a look hack in order to better see where we are going. It can be pretty easy to lose your bearings when standing in the middle of a storm, and a storm is one way to describe the changes we have seen in our culture since the success of digital technology.

The effects have been widespread some of them blindingly obvious while others have been so subtle as to be nearly invisible.

But they have all been rather interesting, some exciting, and a few just a little bit scary. The fear factor is usually dependent on what side of the fence you are sitting on. A lot of the things that I find exciting tend to freak out politicians and corporations, while the things that get them going make me break out in a cold sweat.

There is a documentary available right now that takes a good look at a few of the changes. It focuses on the democratisation of culture and creation, and is full of interesting interviews. It also looks pretty darn good, and has even gone a bit experimental by offering an interactive version of the film.

People in the major IP markets can choose to buy the film online, but those of us in the distribution backwaters are asked to download it using BitTorrent.

The filmmakers also have a very active YouTube channel where you can get a look at trailers and raw interview footage.
