Today's Webtip: Arduino, the comic

A beginners guide to hardware hacking.

You might have heard about people making things with something called an Arduino. You can use it to make robots, music instruments, sensors, locks, and thing that go "blink".

It seems to be a pretty good way to learn basic electronics and programming, and the whole culture around it reminds me a lot of the computer hobbyist scene in the 80's. Anyone who ever used to type in BASIC programs from a magazine will probably feel right at home, and anyone who missed the joy of making a C64 to stupid stuff now has a chance to catch a similar buzz.

Or would have a chance, if they only knew where to start. If you don’t have friends messing around with the things, and never got to learn the basics, it could all seem a bit daunting.

Which brings us to today's webtip. An illustrated tutorial to help get you started with Arduino. It's short, well written, and filled with colorfoul pictures.
