access your media wherever you might be.

Now that the next Google goodness is going live, and early adopters are chomping at their bits to get an invite, it seems like a good time to take a look at a few alternatives.

For music. Yes, Google Music (mp3.com version 2.0?) is up and running, and according to some local media it's even possible to get it to work over here.

But for those of you who don't want to jump through hoops, wait for invites, or trust your files to a global behemoth, it might be worth taking a look at other ways of getting everywhere access to your media. It's not just a personal media server, it will also do some cool tricks that transcoding files on the fly and allow you to access many more file types from your phones.

It's also a bit of work to get running. But don't worry, www.talkandroid.com has a very basic guide to a standard setup.
