Today's Webtip: Google+?

A collaborative help document in the making.

Google+ has been slowly opening up to more and more people in the last couple of days. I have no idea how the invite system is supposed to work, and am still a bit confused at how I got in. There was some serious weirdness involved.

And that is the feeling I still have about it. I know it's a beta (of course it is, it's google) but it still sort of feels like a bunch of good ideas were thrown in a hat and a few were picked out. There is a lack of cohesiveness that makes the whole experience feel just a little bit strange.

Part of that is aggravated by the fact that some google apps that are inherently social don't work with it yet, but it all seems like it should play well together.

Whatever. This isn't meant to be a review.

Because one of the coolest things I have run across in G+ is a help document. One that is being written by users. In real time. I know that won't be something knew to Wave veterans, but this particular situation is a bit different. It's also something that could be done on any other social networking site, but the fact that everyone on G+ also has access to Google Docs means that it's being used in a way that would be less likely on someplace like Facebook.

So for those of you who are still a bit dazed and confused by the whole G+ thing, you might want to check it out. It's an interesting documentation of peoples attempts to figure out what to do with this thing...
