It's summertime here in Cowtown near the lake district in St. Pölten, and that means two things. Lots of lake visits and eager preparations for the greatest gathering of the year.
While the big boys plan for the musical mayhem known as Frequency, lovers of klein aber fein are looking forward for the annual Parque del Sol. A few hopefully sunny days in one of the greatest gardens in town with artists, workshops, parties and spontaneous displays of amazing things.
It's one of the things that keeps me from totally losing it out here, and I'm just a bit concerned that it might be the last one ever. So just in case, it would be really cool to try to make it a serious blow-out. They have had a call for participation up for a while now, and I would eagerly encourage anyone with an idea to give it a go. It would be absolutely lovely to see hordes of interesting individuals descend on the city this summer.
The deadline is tomorrow, so if you've had something slumbering in the back of your mind for a while, now is the time to let it out.
But that's not all!
There is a lot of work to be done in preparation for the event, and that means that next week is going to be a very busy time in the south of the city. They are planning to do some major work to the buildings next week, and could use some help getting everything ready. Think of it as another chance for a cultural summer camp.
