Today's Webtip: London Calling

Joe Strummer on the BBC world service. For the love of radio.

Today is really the worst day of the year to be out hunting on the web. It's the day stupid reigns supreme, and misguided wannabe humorists unleash their unfunny works on a completely suspecting planet.

But I'm going to try to ignore it, by digging up some gems from the past.

Like a podcast that was a Radio Show made by someone who really loved music. And radio.

CBS records

Joe Strummer shared that love on a show for the BBC world service called (oddly enough) London Calling. It's radio the way I like it; with insight, foresight and hindsight, opening up the world of music through an eclectic mix of past and (past)present.

You can find a podcast on iTunes, or you can check out a curated (and mildly edited) version of the files at www.radioclashblog.com

You probably want to check out the rest of that site as well. It's a music blog and podcast that might just tickle your fancy.
