Today's Webtip: Tools for Troublemakers
I just came across a fabulous collection of DIY guides for digital media. Well, not just digital media, it's actually about putting digital comunications to work for NGO's, grass roots organizations and other non corporate advocates. But the guides contain information to anyone who is trying to communicate online.
Message in a Box is a collection of guides for media production. Animation, video, audio, they have everything you need to become a propaganda powerhouse. Or just make better videos of stupid cat stuff. From guerila marketing basics to video securtiy and mobile distribution, they cover theory as well as the software you need to put that theory into practice.
Security in a Box is something everyone (yes, you too) should take a look at. They cover a lot of the bases, from basic anti_virus/malware stuff to webmail security issues and on up to using Tor. like the other tool boxes, the guides cover basic ideas as well as specific (free) software.
And then there is the rest. Information visualization, mobile communications, and even mapping, they are all worth taking a look at. And you can do that here: Tacticaltech.org
