Today's Webtip: Music for the Revolution

the Guardian takes a look at the music behind the movements.

You probably all ready know about the Tunisian rapper el général.

But what about the role of electro, metal, or folk? And what did Egypt sound like? The Guardian has posted an interesting article looking at the role music has played in the events in Tunisia and Egypt.

And for those of you who think reading about music is like, well, who think it's better to hear what people are talking about, there is a second article featuring links to videos of various songs and artists.

Although the article mentions the Egyptian metal scene, the Guardian didn't decide to link to any videos from that genre. So I thought I would find something for you. A track from Massive Scar Era.

It rocks.
