Today's Webtip: Visions of the Future
Isaac Asimov had a thing for science. As a child he got hooked on the science fiction pulps of the time, convincing his father that since they had the word science in them, they must be educational. He studied science, acquiring a Ph.D. in biochemistry from Columbia University, and he worked in science as an associate professor at the Boston University School of Medicine. But most importantly, he wrote about science.
Asimov was one of the most prolific writers of all times. He wrote mysteries, fantasy, and of course some of the best known classic hard science fiction of all time.
But he also wrote non-fiction, and penned some excellent works of popular science examining the history of scientists and ideas. One of his final projects was a popular science television show. The pilot was made two years before his death in 1992. It never went into production, but it has found it's way onto the net.
