Today's Webtip: Vivian Maier
Vivian Maier is being hailed as one of the great photographic talents of the 20th century. Discovered by Flea market collectors in Chicago, where Vivian lived and worked as a Nanny, her story is only slowly coming to light.

A prolific street photographer, Vivian documented the streets of Chicago and Europe between the 1950's and the 1990's. John Maloof seems to be the person who first brought attention to Vivian's work, after acquiring a sizeable portion of her collection at an antiques auction.
He has been slowly publishing scans of her photographs on his blog vivianmaier.blogspot.com
Another group of collectors who managed to buy negatives, films, and prints from Viviane's time in Europe and other parts of the U.S. and are releasing scans on their site vivianmaierphotography.com
It's an intriguing story and one worth wading into. Fortunately for us, the works of Ms. Maier have come into the hands of some interesting and dedicated individuals who are happy to share her images with us.
