Today's Webtip: Don't Touch That Dial!

Ancient radio entertainment for the online generations.

Aint nothing like that old-time radio. Really. The golden age of radio entertainment was filled with formats that just don't make financial sense anymore. Serials, soaps, drama, mystery, and even science fiction were part of the daily routine for radio stations in a time when familes still gathered round the tubes for their evening entertainment.

Dont touch that dial

Luckily for fans of radio plays, many of the older programs have now entered the public domain, which means we once again have access to classics like the Superman serials, Nat King Cole, and Dimension X.

Sites like the internet archive have been doing a pretty good job of making many of these programs available, but just a mass of data cant take the place of curation, so interested individuals have been taking up the slack.

Like Don't Touch That Dial!

The radio blog features daily themes, like Mystery Monday, Terror Tuesday, and my favorite, Sci-fi Saturday.

Western Wednesday makes up the most recent posts, and you can dive right in with Hopalong Cassidy and the Lone Ranger. Or you can dig through the archives to find out of date commercials, swan songs, and of course, cheesy science fiction.
