Today's Webtip: Can't Print?

it's not a bug, it's a feature.

One of the big dreams of the information age has been the paprless office. Unfortunately, it's still more of a dream than a reality. Despite the proliferation of laptops, netbooks, smartphones and tablets, people still feel the need to print out those emails and reports. I even know people who print power point presentations.

Don't ask me why.

Saddened by all of the wasted trees, the WWF has decided to take action. Rather than lecturing people on the waste of frivolous printing, they have released a document format that won't let you print. The WWF (see what they've done there?). It's based on PDF, and, well, it wont let you print.

You can use it to take proactive action, forcing paper fiends into going with the digital flow. Yes, I think it's a bit mean.

And that's exactly why I like it.
