Today's Webtip: Replicate Yourself

can I say welcome to the future again?

I'm sure some of you (well, the Metalabbers and their friends at least) are familiar with D.I.Y. 3D printers.

If you thought the easy distribution and duplication of information was cool, then you might also get a bit excited about the possibility of combining digital design and distribution with low cost physical fabrication.

I certainly am.

I know this isn't anything new, but after a conversation at the ARS2010 I realized it's something I might not have shared with you yet.

If you aren't familiar with these things, than you might want to check a report by ZDF on the subject. It features the Makerbot and what I am certain are Metalabs version of the RepRap.

I would link to Metalab here, but their site seems to be down right now, so I will instead point you to their reprap soup:
reprap.soup.io

Or you can just dive on into the fun:
