Today's Webtip: Something Awesome

putting people into orbit, just because they can. Maybe.

I have spent this morning wading through the most awesome thread ever. Copenhagen Suborbitals announced their manned space project in a Something Awful thread last february. It's amazing. They have been feeding the forum with fabulous pics of the development process, and people have been going nuts about it.

Copenhagen Suborbitals

And why not? A non-profit group gets together to make their own mini manned space project. A project that will be towed out to launch using the submarine the group built earlier. The largest homebuilt submarine ever.

D.I.Y, space, homebrew science and the internet. What more could you want?

The launch is scheduled to take place in 6 days. The capsule is carrying a crashtest dummy, but if everything goes well, they really do hope to put a man in space.

And that, my friends, is a big round ball of awesome.
