I've been messing with my phones since Windows Mobile was WINCE, an acronym that is exactly as appropriate as it sounds. What used to be an icredibly convoluted process just seems to get easier and easier.
And right now, if you happen to own an iPhone and want it to do more than Apple planned, it's become almost as simple as a one button mouse. If you have the right hardware running the right software, all you have to do is visit a certain website.
A fact that has some pretty scary implications for your phone security, but means you can have a mobile wlan hotspot just by clicking on a link.
Of course, you still have to know if it will work. And that's where www.jailbreakmatrix.com comes in. It's a handy guide to which jailbreak solutions might work with your soft/hardware combination.
Jailbreaking isn't for everyone, and unless you have a very specific reason you might need it, it's probably better not to. Because, yes, it COULD mess up your phone. I've never bricked a mobile, but I have had some scary moments, and it's not for the faint of heart.
