Today's Webtip: Worldreader.org
It's becoming increasingly difficult to remember wht the early years of the web and the tech boom were like. The .com bubble and the internet gold-rush have left us with an increasing commercial internet, where new projects are started and judged by their ability to capitalize on user participation.
But in the beginning it was different. Aside from the fact that many refused to believe a commercialization was even possible, most were enthralled with the power of personal publishing, and convinced that the net, and technology, could make the world a better place.
Well, I was at least.
And I still believe it's possible.
Fortunately, I'm not alone. There are actually a few people out there who don't just believe it, but are convinced enough to actually put together working projects. worldreader.org is one of those projects.
