Today's Webtip: No Carrier?
The man behind www.textfiles.com not only managed to put together one of the greatest archives of BBS history anywhere, he also spent 4 years making a documentary film about the subject. That films was released as DVD, ad I was lucky enough to see a few clips when he gave a presentation at Metalab sometime in the past.
The DVD is actually a box set containing hours of episodes, complete interviews and all sorts of extras. But for those who just want to see the film, you can now check it out online. You can either check it out at www.archive.org or at video.google.com , or you can torrent it thepiratebay.org (that's an official torrent kiddies).
And for those of you who are wondering why someone who is trying to sell a DVD for $50 would use CC licensing and make it available online, you can read his reasoning here: ascii.textfiles.com
