Today's Webtip: Downgrade

Take that old iPhone back to the place it was before.

iOS 4 is out! And any iPhone 3G users who jumped on the update might be regretting it about now. I usually wait a while to see what happened to everyone else, but since I was anxious to check out Apples catch-update I jumped the gun.

Now, I knew that multi-tasking was out (reason #1 to jailbreak) and a lot of the other nifty new stuff wasn't going to work either, but I decided that a unified inbox and home screen folders would be worth it. Since the last couple of updates have only increased the speed of the phone I was actually hoping for a little bit of fun...

And now I am trying to decide wether or not to revert back to 3.1.3 and jailbreak. Several other people have already made the decision to get back, and Lifehacker has put up a guide to downgrading for those of you who are feeling the pain.

For those of you who are on 3G's and haven't upgraded, you might want to wait a bit. For the rest of you who are yearning for the good old days, you might want to give it a shot.

How to downgrade to 3.1.3

Jailbreaking seems easier...

(and please please please, read very carefully. It's not really that tough, but if you don't feel comfortable DON'T do it. I've been messing with my phones for years now and haven't bricked one yet, but that doesn't mean it can't happen to you. In other words, do this at your own risk)
