Today's Webtip: ALF outtakes

being a fuzzy alien aint all fun and games.

ALF is one of those television shows I only really got into after coming to Austria. Maybe it was some strange homesickness that had me longing for a parallel reality where Ronald Reagan was actually a wisecrakcing furball. I don't know.

I do know that seeing ALF in english was a bit of a shock, and I actually preferred the German voice.

Whatever the reason, coming across some outtakes from the show was a bit of a kick. If anyone ever thought being a puppeteer was all fun and games, this video from the episode Stairway to Heaven should set them straight.

Paul Fusco and Lisa Buckley were the people behind (well, under) ALF, and spent two hours filming a single shot. ALFs facial feature were controlled by a third person using a remote control, and the really amazing thing about watching these outtakes is the fact that three people working together managed to stay in character even when things were going wrong.

If you just want to kick back and let a series of bloopers roll over you, you can just go here.
