Today's Webtip: Wisdom of Google?

it's not wasting time, it's research. Really.

When I first started using Google, I used to spend hours playing all sorts of silly games with the search. A lot of them ended up as webtips.

So when I came across a post at Modern Art Notes, I had to pause. It was about using Google Image Search to learn about public perception of famous Artists. The blog seems to be geared to Art professionals, so I can only assume that the writer and potential readers have become fairly distanced to mainstream perception of art.

Anyway, the idea is that whereas art critics and historians don't really rank paintings (well, apparently they won't admit it) google does. 10 artists were then googled, and the leading artworks listed. Readers are encouraged to try it with other artists and to post results to a twitter account.

It makes me want to do a famous painters Top 40 show. With Casey Kasem. And requests.
